Programmes
What is open this term.
This list is kept by the practice and changes when a programme fills, pauses, or is added. If you cannot see what you need, write anyway. We will say if it is something we do.
Academic support
GCSE Maths
Years 9–11 · In person & online
Clear teaching for Foundation and Higher, from number fluency through to exam papers.
Sessions rebuild the topics that feel shaky, then move into timed practice so pupils know what a mark scheme is asking for. Suitable for Years 9–11, including those who have fallen behind or want a stronger grade.
GCSE Science
Years 9–11 · In person & online
Biology, Chemistry and Physics explained in plain language, with exam technique built in.
We work from the current specification, close gaps in required practicals and required vocabulary, and practise six-mark answers without the waffle. Combined and Triple routes are both welcome.
11+ Preparation
Years 4–6 · In person & online
Measured preparation for Maths, English, VR and NVR, without turning Year 5 into a second school day.
A diagnostic first session sets the pace. We then work through the papers your target schools actually use, with short, regular practice and honest feedback for parents. Mock-style timing is introduced only when the child is ready.
KS2 Tutoring
Years 3–6 · In person & online
English and maths support that follows the National Curriculum and the child in front of us.
Useful after a tricky year, a change of school, or when homework has become a nightly argument. We fill gaps, restore confidence, and keep the work short enough to sit alongside school.
KS3 Tutoring
Years 7–9 · In person & online
A calmer route through Years 7–9, before GCSE pressure arrives.
Secondary school moves quickly. These sessions keep maths and science secure, organise revision habits, and stop small misunderstandings becoming Year 10 problems.
Homework Support
KS2–GCSE · In person & online
A weekly slot to get work finished, understood, and handed in without the Sunday-night rush.
We sit with the actual school tasks, teach the method behind them, and help pupils leave with something complete. Parents get a short note on what was hard and what to watch next week.
Exam Preparation
KS2–GCSE · In person & online
SATs, KS3 assessments and GCSE papers: structure, timing and a plan that fits the weeks you have left.
Not a crash course for its own sake. We look at the papers, pick the marks that are still available, and practise under conditions that feel like the real thing.
SEND & SEMH
1:1 SEND Interventions
Primary to post-16 · In person & online
Tailored sessions for learners who need more than a standard tutoring hour.
Drawn from current practice as a Learning Mentor in a UK special needs college. Work is paced to attention, sensory needs and language, and written up so school and home can keep the same approach.
Behaviour Support Plans
Primary to college · In person & online
Practical plans for SEMH, demand avoidance and the moments that derail a school day.
We observe patterns, agree a small set of strategies, and write a plan families and settings can actually use. The aim is fewer flashpoints, not a longer list of rules.
Emotional Regulation Sessions
KS1–KS4 · In person & online
Quiet, structured work on noticing feelings before they take over.
Sessions use simple language, visual supports and rehearsal of what to do when frustration, worry or shutdown arrives. Suitable alongside school pastoral care, not instead of clinical treatment.
Social Skills Development
KS1–KS3 · In person & online
Turn-taking, conversation and friendship skills taught without making a child feel broken.
Short, specific practice: greetings, asking for help, joining a group, repairing a misunderstanding. We keep it concrete and kind.
Learning Readiness
Reception–Year 3 · In person
For younger pupils who are not yet settled enough for formal work.
Attention, following an adult, sitting with a task, and the small routines that make a classroom possible. Often the right first step before academic tutoring.
Special programmes
Confidence-Building Sessions
KS2–GCSE · In person & online
For the capable child who freezes, avoids, or says ‘I can’t’ before they start.
We pick work they can succeed at, name the progress out loud, and slowly raise the challenge. Academic content is still there. The difference is the way it is held.
Holiday Booster Camps
KS2–GCSE · In person & online
Short, focused blocks in half-term and summer. Catch-up without a full term’s commitment.
Small groups or 1:1, with a written plan at the start and a plain-English summary at the end. Typical themes: SATs stretch, GCSE paper practice, and ‘ready for September’ maths.
Communication & Language
Early years–KS2 · In person & online
Vocabulary, spoken sentences and listening skills for pupils who understand more than they can say.
Useful after EAL transitions, speech and language needs, or a quiet classroom presence that is being mistaken for a lack of ability. We work in short bursts with plenty of modelling.
